A short introduction to PHPMarketPlace
PHPMarketPlace is a PHP & MySQL classified ads script. The design is very simple and lightweight. It was designed to allow website owners to create a classified ad marketplace on their website with the same ease of use as Craigslist.
A quick note from the script owner...
Hi. I am no longer supporting or developing this script. You are still free to download and use, but I no longer have the time to support it due to my "day job" running my other web service. Please, download as much as you want, use on whatever sites you want. I will try to possibly add this to github instead so users can help each other on support, updates and so on.
Simple to customize
The PHP code is well documented, the layout is CSS driven, and there are only 3 small MySQL tables. This allows site owners to easy deploy this script on their websites, change the look, add functions, add fields to the table - whatever they want. Because Craigslist is the inspiration for PHPMarketPlace, there isn't a cumbersome user database to manage. Sellers edit or delete their listings via their email.
Did we mention, unlimited use FREE?
Download fee, you can use the script on as many websites as you like. Build sites for clients, build websites for yourself. The only restriction is that you do not resell the script as your own, but you can use it to build as many websites as you like.
- Create a new MySQL database and import our sample db to create the table structure and add sample data.
- Upload all the script files to your website.
- Edit the config file.
- Add an htaccess file to password protect your control panel (remember, the posters edit their inventory just like on Craigslist, via their post email).
- Edit the look/design however you want.
At this point, there is no real support. I will try to set up a forum or something, but as it stands, I simply don't have the time to spend on this so I figure I'll let everyone use it for free.
